Dua Foundation has installed community handpumps in the villages of Kaloi, Diplo, Mithi, Islamkot and Nagarparkar tehsils of Tharparkar. These handpumps can draw water from depths of up to 200 feet. Before installing the handpump, a bore of four inches in diameter is drilled. The maintenance of these handpumps is the responsibility of the local community. With proper care and upkeep, these handpumps can remain functional for many years, providing clean drinking water and meeting other needs related to water of the area residents.
